CDC Seeks Experienced Executive Director
The Yorktown Community Development Corporation seeks an experienced results oriented Executive Director. This is a rare opportunity to advance a passionate organization with a legacy of success. The Yorktown CDC is a neighborhood based organization located in North Central Philadelphia, serving the Yorktown Community. Yorktown is the first housing development in Philadelphia built for African American ownership and has a rich history spanning 50 years. The CDC is an active non-profit organization with three major mission objectives: housing, neighborhood stabilization and preservation, and economic development.
The Executive Director is the chief administrator of the organization, carrying out day to day operations under the direction of the Board of Directors. This position reports to the Board of Directors and will apprise the board of all relevant information for sound decision making. The Executive Director will represent the board at community and political meetings.
The Executive Director’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Implementation of Yorktown Master Plan 2015 “A Blueprint for Survival and Sustainability”
2. Managing General Partner Oversight of Yorktown Arms Apartments.
3. Supervision of Social Service and Support Staff
4. Program development and implementation
5. Community & government relations
6. Fundraising
7. Contract administration
The Executive Director Requirements:
1. Education: Master’s Degree (urban planning, human services, community development, public policy, business administration).
2. Skills: Self starter, excellent written and oral communication, resource development strategic planning, program management, administration, personnel management
3. Computer: Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Social Media
4. Background: Experience in Community leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of issues, policies, planning, technology, and resources related to community development and services to elderly. Nonprofit administration. Proven fundraiser.
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 based on skills, experience and education. Basic medical plan and contribution to retirement plan.
