Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee Announces Tire Round-Up Program
WANTED: Tread or aligned, illegally discarded tires. Make money for your Block or Community Group! Registration limited to the first 150 eligible organized groups.
Here are some highlights and important things to know about the program:
- Help promote civic pride through clean-up and beautification projects.
- Remove illegally discarded tires from the streets, sidewalks, parks, alleys, and riverbanks.
- You must register to participate. Registered participants will be reimbursed 50¢ for each illegally discarded tire brought to the drop-off site.
- Proceeds from the Tire Round-Up Program are to be used for worthwhile community projects.
- Tires donated from businesses are not eligible for the program.
Kick-Off Date: July 16, 2011. Registration Deadline: July 1, 2011. Temporary drop-off sites will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on designated Saturdays and are strategically located throughout the City of Philadelphia. Registered participants may drop off tires at any site.
