PACDC and RHLS Host Meeting With Allegheny County Economic Development Director
A dozen city officials, including three City Council members and the heads of city agencies, and another dozen organization leaders congregated at the PACDC office on February 3rd to participate in a discussion with Dennis Davin, Director of the Allegheny County Economic Development Department around one innovative model of staffing multiple agencies. The session had particular relevance to how a Philadelphia Land Bank should be structured given the introduction of a Council ordinance authorizing creation of the Land Bank the day before.
This attentive Philadelphia audience queried Davin on the practical, political and professional challenges and opportunities presented by his agency’s staffing of multiple authorities and boards. Among those participating were Councilmembers Maria Quiones Sanchez, Jannie Blackwell and Mark Squilla, Herb Wetzel from Council President Clarke’s office, Derek Green from Councilwoman Marian Tasco’s office, Ed Covington, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, John Carpenter, Deputy Executive Director of PRA, Deborah McColloch, Director of Housing, Bridgette Greenwald-Collins, Deputy Managing Director, and Eva Gladstein, Deputy Director of the Planning Commission.
