Hard Work On Zoning Code Paying Off
A major milestone in the effort to adopt a new zoning code for Philadelphia was achieved when City Council closed hearings on the proposed new code on September 27th following submission by the Zoning Code Commission (ZCC) Work Plan Committee of additional proposed changes to the code. Many thanks to PACDC members and numerous allies who testified at the multiple hearings on the new code.
On October 20th, City Council unanimously approved a resolution recommending 40 amendments to the ZCC’s proposed code, which can be downloaded from www.zoningmatters.org. The ZCC will hold a special meeting on October 26th at 8:00 a.m. to review the City Council resolution. The ZCC is expected to forward their final proposed code to City Council in the next few weeks to allow time for a final up or down vote by City Council in December.
