2011 RISING STAR AWARD
AWARD DESCRIPTION
For the first time ever, PACDC will recognize young professionals who work at member CDCs. The goal is to encourage young professionals to pursue a career in the CDC field and award training to enhance their capabilities.
NOMINATIONS
Persons under 40 (as of December 31, 2011) may be nominated by an individual who knows her/his work or s/he may self-nominate. The young professional must be in the profession for a minimum of three years and include a biography. S/he must write a brief statement describing her/his work, results, and vision about his/her respective community. Nominees must be an employee of a PACDC CDC member organization in good standing (i.e. dues have been paid for calendar year 2011) and have a minimum of three years experience in the community development field.
PLEASE NOTE: The nominee’s Executive Director (or Board Chair if nominee is Executive Director) must sign off on the nomination because the Rising Star winner will receive up to three week’s training and may be out of the office for that time. More than one person from the same organization may be nominated.

DEADLINE
Submissions must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011. A nomination receipt will be sent to you within 2 business days of your submission. Please contact Pamela Bridgeforth at pbridgeforth@pacdc.org if you do not receive a notice within this time.
RECOGNITION & AWARD
Finalists will be announced prior to PACDC’s Gala and invited to the VIP Reception (Tuesday, April 26), recognized in the PACDC Magazine and website, and introduced briefly at the Gala Awards Ceremony (Thursday, May 19). The winning Rising Stars will be announced at the Gala.
The winners will receive a substantial training scholarship from NeighborWorks America and/or the National Development Council.
